Looking for freedom

Mes Amis

This morning I got more than my usual junk mail through the door. I also got a pamhlet from a group calling themselves "Christianity Explored" imploring to me to discover the "Real Jesus".

Who knew that he would turn out to be...

The Hoff

And I quote from the first page:

David Hasselhoff is concerned that his role in Euproean history is being overlooked.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, the actor and popsinger argued that he helped to bring down the Berlin Wall by singing his song Looking for Freedom* on that fateful night. "I find it a bit sad," said the ex-Knight Rider and Baywatch star, "that there is no phot of me hanging on the walls in the Berlin Museum"

Is it possible that Jesus had an inflated sense of his own importance, too? People were certainly saying some amazing things about him.

Looks like Mr Williams, who has been worshipping the Hoff in a semi-professional capacity for several years now, may have been right all along.

Maybe "Jump in my Car" could take the place of the Lord's prayer.

Oh, I would happily join the Church of Hoff.

Au revoir

Russel

*Not only is the Hoff plainly a modern day Jesus, but he's kind of like the horns that brought down the walls of Jericho, too

Or maybe the walls of Jericho even...

Well, I'd say any singer whose voice can crumble concrete is worth remembering.

Taking credit for the Berlin Wall is all well and good. I'm willing to let him have that. But what has he done lately? I think the Catholic Church requires two miracles for canonization, and there's a ways between that and deification...

I've given this too much thought.

Happily join the church of Hoff?

Russel, are you feeling okay? I may have to circulate your name on a prayer chain or two...

I knew I'd made a mistake... but I thougth I'd go with it and see if anyone pointed out the location I actually meant.

Thank you.

I think the second miracle was "jump in my car" which will always be a classic of modern pop to my ears.

I am feeling saved... by the Hoff. Of course I'm okay!

I'm having visions of you and John as altar boys... horrifying visions.

Horrifying yet strangely alluring.
