Horror-balls rides again

Mes Amis

If you don't already know, Al "horror-balls"* Guthrie has just won the Theakston's Old Peculier Crime Novel of The Year Award!

Yes, indeed, that masterpiece of the macabre, TWO WAY SPLIT, has stomped all over the competition, grinding them into the dust to win the coveted prize of an empty beer barrel for its incredibly proud author.

Asked later for a comment, Guthrie said, "I claim this prize in the name of Lothian and Borders! You fuckers!" before going on to spend the entire evening wearing a gold-plated crown and called the other nominees his "bitches"**.

So a huge round of applause for Mr Guthrie, because he really is a fantastically deserving winner. So if you haven't read his book, what the hell are you waiting for? A rather intelligent critic, after all, once described it as "quite simply, superb"

Au revoir

Russel

Just? Just? I take issue with the word "just". It was HOURS ago. This is very misleading.

Although your post doesn't appear to have any typos...you didn't go off drink in honour of Al's win, did you?

I don't quite remember it that way...

I think the fact I DIDN'T go off drink explains my memories of events...
