A Merry Thriller Christmas

Mes Amis

December's VIEW FROM THE TRENCHES (or as it got renamed this month, A BRITISH THRILLER CHRISTMAS) is online thanks to the heroic efforts of Mr David Hewson in assembling THE BIG THRILL every month.

This time I look back at few of the thrillers that made an impression on me this year, reminisce on awards and conventions and admit that bugger all really happens in the book trade at this time of year as we're all concentrating on making people buy lovely Christmassy bauble books.

Anyway, later on this month I'll be doing the non thriller oriented top ten reads of this year on this 'ere blog as well as the usual look back at cinema, TV and random nonsense.

So until next time,

Au revoir

Long time coming...

Mes Amis

After a small delay because of what was either a technical hiccup or Russel making an arse-up of the ITW website (you decide, kids!) the latest VIEW FROM THE TRENCHES is up. Although there are a million things I want to cover, I have limited space, so I have some more thriller releases (anybody wants to let me know when their next book is coming out so I can get it up there, drop me a line at the ITW address in the information bar opposite), a bit about Barrington Stoke featuring the lovely Scottish Maestros of mirth Allan "Sunshine" Guthrie and Stuart "Cat Lover" MacBride. And also a lovely bit of self promotion about the brilliant, amazing and simply mind-blowing Fuck Noi... um, I mean EXPLETIVE DELETED, which is due out on, I do believe, the 15th of this month and is available through your local store - if you know where I work*, or live in the US - or online, or by badgering your local store to import it if they possibly can.

Oh, and next month, I promise I will be on time with all the rest of the kids writing for THE BIG THRILL, because I don't want to seem like the moronic new kid always late for class. I have a reputation to maintai...

...wait...

...that is my reputation isn't it?

Au revoir

Russel

*Because someone may have imported some into the crime section... dunno who would do that, of course...
