Who said romance was dead?

Mes Amis

I do enjoy radio 4's The News Quiz, these days hosted by Sandi Toksvig, and admit a fondness for the typos and bad headlines that tend to feature between the questions.

But this week, one particularly lead-in to an article made me laugh like a drain. From The Clare People:

"A NORTH Clare resident who admitted to masturbating while following young women around Galway City may be stripped of his crown as Ireland’s Most Romantic Man."

I guess it all depends on your definition of romance. However, further investigation into the article leads to this gem of a double entendre when discussing how the accused and his girlfriend became Ireland's most romantic couple:

"The couple beat off stiff competition from dozens of other entries from the whole island of Ireland to win the prize."

'Nuff said, I believe.

Au revoir
