# 324: In Which Our Hero Says, "Guhhhh..."

Mes Amis

Ian Rankin is an excellent speaker. A fluid, entertaining and very amusing man with a great degree of humility.

Your blog host is sadly able to emit little more than a gibber when he says hello to one of Scotland's most famous modern crime writers. And I hadn't even got near the Rebus whisky.

C'est la vie

Au revoir

And I thought your gibberish was saved for Bouchercon and Harrogate and Lee Child, and why is it I'm reminded of buses, green cows and drinking in The Ox? Many wouldn't believe you about the whisky, but I'm sure you only indulged after the fact. ;)

Actually, no one in the crime fiction world should be surprised any more when I talk slightly stunned gibberish at them.

And I can't think why you're reminded of such things :-)
