"...Together we could upgrade the universe..."

Mes Amis

Hokey dialogue from both Daleks and Cybermen ("You are superior in one respect: you are better at dying!") aside, tonight's episode of the marvellous Doctor Who was, well, brilliant! After a season of wildly fluctuating scripts, an embarrasing attempt to break with formula (Peter Kay in a green fat suit does not comedy make), suddenly David Tennant gets a chance to really show what he's made of. Doomsday was a fan's dream (well this fan's dream) full of mythological imagery and apocalyptic sequences while re-establishing the dynamic of the Rose/Doctor relationship and reminding us that Billie wasn't always this irritating and condescending little harpie. I mean, by the end of Doomsday you remember why the Doctor and Rose travelled together and you remembered that their life wasn't always fun and games with no consequences... but its the right time for Rose to depart and as Russell T Davies has said in interview, she'll be in that TARDIS til the day she dies so there's only one way to get rid of her...

I can't say much more for fear of spoiling the surprise too much for our American friends... but even through the weak Tennant episodes, stick with it: they really did save the best for last.

Au revoir

Have to admit I did like: "No. It is pest control!" a lot. It was a little hokey but fun as well...

"Dalek's are not concerned with Elegance..."

"That much is obvious..."

Emotionless beings, except for their camp bitchiness... but still very funny.
